Well folks, we’re still in operation and so it the Wharf Rat Rally. As of 3:59PM AST, Environment Canada has a tropical storm, wind, rain, and hurricane warning issued for Digby County. They are forecasting wind gusts of over 100 km/h. Wind gusts for the remainder of the province are expected to be 90 km/h. At noon ADT the centre of hurricane Earl was located about 280 kilometres northeast of Cape Hatteras North Carolina and is moving north northeast at 33 km/h. On its current track Earl is forecast to make landfall in the vicinity of Western Nova Scotia or the Fundy coast of New Brunswick Saturday morning.

Wharf Rat Rally organizers are assuring participants that they will be ok. They arranged to have bike storage at the Digby Arena for a nominal fee.

We are hopeful that damage and power outages will be minimal but we have an emergency plan in place and we are prepared to take wonderful care of our guests.
